Most people I know drink green tea for a variety of reasons. Whatever the reason maybe, they all can agree that the tea is good for your overall being. Some people have done some research to find out what health benefits you can receive from drinking green tea. They're also people who might not know what these benefits are, and what it can do for them in the long run. Well this article will help you get a basic understanding so that when you drink green tea, you know what it can do for your body if you consume the right amount.

Green tea can help with the prevention of Cancer. Some studies have shown that it can prevent the growth of cancer cells in the body. Some Scientists have claimed that it contains a compound called Epigallocatechin Gallate also known as EGCG. This Catechin called EGCG stops cancer cells from growing by combining with an enzyme called Dihydrofolate Reductase inside someone's body. These studies aren't backed by everyone, and they're more research that needs to be done to come to an accurate conclusion of the subject.

It can also help with protecting your heart. The antioxidants in the tea help with controlling your blood pressure along with your cholesterol levels. Studies also have shown that it can help with the minimizing of thrombosis formation which is a huge factor in whether or not you get heart disease. Preventing this type of formation is a key benefit in green tea.

If you are someone who has trouble with weight loss, drinking this type of tea can be very beneficial. It can help with speeding up your metabolism. When your metabolism is fast, you can burn more calories which helps you prevent gaining a lot of weight. Basically it helps to stimulate the metabolism while simultaneously blocking fat from being absorbed in the body.

The protection of the liver is very important. This is where green tea can be so helpful in the long run. We all need our liver to function at a high level. It helps to filter out toxins from our bodies. The antioxidants help to strengthen the immune system which makes the liver even more capable of filtering all the bad substances that we either eat or breathe into our systems.

You can add honey with your tea. This is one of my personal favorites. Some people might just like to drink it plain with no additives. It taste fine whether it is hot or cold. The tea can be very refreshing and healthy, and you can consume as much of it as you please without the risk of anything bad happening to your body.
